RENTAL HOUSING SUPPORT PROGRAM

 

PRE-APPLICATION PERIOD AND

APPLICATION LOTTERY

 

 

The Rental Housing Support Program was approved by the State of Illinois in 2005.  The DuPage Housing Authority (DHA) applied as the Local Administering Agency and was awarded funding to assist families throughout DuPage County.  The funding is to be used as rental assistance to households with extremely low incomes.  Households in the program will pay approximately 30% of their income in rent.

 

The RHS Program provides unit-based assistance.  To receive assistance under the Program an eligible household must be leased in a RHS Contracted Unit. 

 

To be eligible for the RHS Program applicants must fall within the below listed income guidelines.  Maximum annual income limits for program participation (by household size) are based on area median income (“AMI”) defined as follows:

If you are deemed income eligible for the program, your application will be entered into a lottery.  One hundred and fifty (150) applicants will be chosen and placed on a waiting list.  Chosen applicants will be notified through the mail of waiting list placement.  Non-Lottery winners will be notified through the mail that their Pre-Application was not selected.  Non-Lottery winners are encouraged to apply when waiting lists re-open.  Income ineligible applicants will be sent notification through the mail.

 

 

Pre-applications for the RHS Program will be available September 22-24 between 9:00AM-12:00PM at
